“From my discussion with Governor Luigi Villafuerte this morning, they are okay with the food. Mr. President, their main concern was water. I know we did send the water purification systems pero nagkataon, Mr. President, naipit ho yung trucks sa Milaor kasi naputol ho yung road na iyon, medyo baha pa ho. As an action step, Mr. President, we spoke to Manila Water and Maynilad Water, and they have already provided us with quite substantial number of those six-gallon na lalagyan and we are now working with the Philippine Air Force so we can airlift these,” sabi ni Secretary Gatchalian sa kanyang ulat kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
“For our regional warehouse Mr. President, we still have 86,000 family food packs and I assured na he can pick it up anytime. He has a standing request of 30,000, we are ready to distribute that, Mr. President. Of course, he will take charge with the last mile pero we still
have food on the ground, and I assured him already na ready ho ang national government to augment his needs,” sabi ni Secretary Gatchalian.
Secretary Irene Dumlao, at DSWD Field Office-5 Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio. (DSWD)
