“This has been the greatest honor of my life as a public servant, as well as the greatest challenge. I gave this job my all, and I am very proud of what the Senate has been able to accomplish under my leadership.
“Ginawa natin ang lahat para protektahan ang ating Senado, ang ating demokrasya, at ang ating bayan.
“While I step down as Senate President, rest assured that I will continue to serve you as an independent Senator, loyal only to the Filipino people.
Mabuhay ang Senado. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.”
